Flooding issues (2)
Following on from the latest Newsletter, Council have taken on board advice and quotations from various companies and have decided that the best, if not the only, resolution to the flooding problems between the 1st green and the 18th tee is to create a pond in the area which has now become “bog.” The drain which runs across the first fairway will also be opened up to create a burn similar to the Paddy Burn all the way across the first fairway and in front of the 1st green. This burn will run into the pond and out again into the Paddy Burn in front of the 6th tee.
By carrying out this work, and taking account of the probable view from any new clubhouse development in Deer Park, it is felt that this development will provide a maintainable and aesthetically improved drainage scheme.
Work has already commenced in this area and there will undoubtedly be some disruption during the planned 6 week operation. I will be monitoring the work closely and would ask for your patience at this time.
