GRAHAM WOOD

PRO/CELEBRITY AM

As you will no doubt be aware, Graham Wood, Dunbar’s Head Greenkeeper for over 30 years has been hospitalised since he suffered a stroke just over a year ago.

It is the intention of the Golf Club to raise money for Graham and his family through a “Testimonial Pro-Cel-Am Event” on Friday 19th September 2008.

The celebrities participating will be from the world of sport and entertainment ‘past and present’. The professionals will be represented by Tartan Tour Players and possibly current European Tour Players, in particular those who have had a connection with Dunbar over the years.

It is intended to have the Event as a Shotgun start at approximately 10.30am.The approximate format for the day is as follows.

8.30am – 9.00am        Arrival, team registration, coffee and bacon rolls

10.00am                      Make way to allocated shotgun start hole

10.30am                     Shotgun Start

3.00pm – 4.00pm        Lunch

4pm                             Auction

5pm                             Presentation of Prizes

The cost of a Team of 3 amateurs to participate alongside a celebrity or a professional is £400. The demand for teams is already high therefore if you would like to participate please contact John Archibald manager@dunbargolfclub.com or Jacky Montgomery jmontdunbargc@aol.com as soon as possible.

There is also a raffle for a spot in the tournament and tickets can be purchased from the bar at £5 each.  The winner will be able to pick 2 of his or her friends to participate on the day with a PGA professional or one of the Celebrities.

The Auction is obviously to help raise as much as we can for Graham. If you feel you could assist in any way with an Auction donation or even a raffle donation it would be hugely appreciated. We have already received kind offers for 4-balls at various venues throughout the UK. Any donor (Company or individual) of an Auction item will be mentioned in the Official Programme.

Thank you for taking time to consider this worthy cause.
